Query Diagnosis Package
Not sure why your query keeps getting rejected?
You knew the querying process would come with some bad news, but you didn’t expect it to be this hard. Is it your story? Your writing? Your query letter? If agents haven’t been giving you feedback, your work needs a second look from a trained professional.
I can help you improve your pitch!
With a query diagnosis, you get a professional book coach’s opinion on your query materials—your query letter and first 20 pages—with feedback on what might be turning agents off and how you can fix it.
If you:
Have submitted your query to more than 10 agents without success—and no indication why they keep turning you down…
Have gotten feedback from an agent that your manuscript needs a professional edit…
Have been encouraged to revise and resubmit…
And you want to:
Understand what you could improve to get agents’ attention…
Elevate your story and polish your manuscript to get agents’ attention…
Revise with purpose so that your next query gets agents’ attention…
…a query diagnosis will get right to the heart of what you could do better to improve your querying chances*!
Query with more confidence.
As a book coach, I’ve worked with writers to improve their manuscripts, copyedit their final drafts, and craft compelling queries. With a query diagnosis, I’ll determine if there’s room to tweak your query letter, your writing, or the story itself. Then I provide the developmental editing, copyediting, or query feedback you need.
Tell me more! What’s included:
An initial diagnosis of your query letter and first 20 pages—I look for story-level issues, excessive grammatical or syntactical issues, incorrect query letter structure…basically anything that could make an agent pass on your story
A 30-minute call to discuss the diagnosis results and what you should do next
Discounted developmental editing of your manuscript
and/or
Discounted copyediting of your manuscript
and/or
Three rounds of edits on your query letter and additional query materials (including synopsis and first 10 pages)

The coach behind the diagnosis
I’m Heather! I lifelong bookworm and author cheerleader.
Some of my favorites stories mean the world to me—they were with me during significant or tough times in my life, and they helped me feel less alone. That’s why I’m committed to helping writers create the best story they can and get their novels into the world.
Others can benefit from your words. They might even change someone else’s life!

*Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that a query diagnosis will get you an agent. Unfortunately, no one can make that guarantee. The publishing industry is unpredictable, and no one can be sure that any one book will attract a publisher and sell. However, I can help you get your story and materials in the best shape possible!
There is a chance that you have a well-crafted story and query letter, but agents feel like they cannot sell your story. If this is the case, I will tell you that! I won’t try to convince you that something is wrong if I don’t see it. But I am happy to help you develop another project that has more commercial viability if traditional publishing is your ultimate goal.
